Brand Upgrade | VI Design

Brand overview
In the children’s English education market, increasing competition has created a common challenge: many brands look similar, communicate similar values and rely on similar visual expressions.
The question is no longer simply:
Which education provider offers better courses?
The deeper question has become:
Which education brand can build stronger emotional trust with children and parents?
Yingmaijing, a children’s English education brand from Wuhan, recognized this challenge and partnered with Xinming Design to develop a new brand visual system based on emotional connection, IP personality and long-term brand consistency.
Through Xinming Design’s Brand OS methodology, Yingmaijing was repositioned from a traditional education service provider into a warmer, more recognizable growth companion for children.
The project focused on transforming educational values into a visual language that could be understood by both parents and children.
The core idea was:
Education is not only about teaching knowledge. It is about accompanying growth.

Yingmaijing Brand Identity Design: Building Emotional Trust Through Brand OSEducation Brands Are Entering an Era of Trust Competition
For many years, children’s English education brands competed mainly through:
course systems,
foreign teachers,
teaching materials,
class formats,
and learning outcomes.
However, as the market matured, these advantages gradually became easier to replicate.
Parents began evaluating education brands through a deeper emotional lens:
Is this brand trustworthy?
Does it understand children?
Can it create a positive learning experience?
Can it become part of my child’s growth journey?
This means education branding is no longer only about communicating professional capability.
It is about building a relationship.
This became the starting point of Xinming Design’s collaboration with Yingmaijing.
01. Brand OS: From Visual Design to Strategic Judgment
Xinming Design’s Brand OS methodology believes that:
A brand is not simply a visual identity. It is a system of continuous decisions.
Traditional VI systems mainly answer:
How should the logo look?
What colors should be used?
How should applications be designed?
But in the AI and digital communication era, brands require deeper structures:
Why does this brand exist?
What should people remember?
What emotional position should it occupy?
How can every touchpoint remain consistent?
For Yingmaijing, Xinming Design built the upgrade around four layers:
Brand Judgment Brand Structure Brand ExecutionBrand Governance
This allowed the brand strategy to become visible, repeatable and scalable.
02. Brand Kernel: Defining Education Through Companionship
Many children’s education brands emphasize achievement:
higher scores,
better results,
stronger skills.
However, Xinming Design identified a different opportunity for Yingmaijing:
The true value of children’s education is not only knowledge acquisition, but growth companionship.
Based on this understanding, the brand core was refined around:
Growth, exploration and emotional connection.
This shifted the brand away from being a simple English training provider.
Instead, Yingmaijing became:
a companion that helps children explore the world through language.
This strategic decision directly influenced:
visual tone,
color selection,
IP development,
communication style,
and user experience.
03. Visual Differentiation: Moving Beyond the Typical Education Style
The children’s education industry often relies on familiar visual patterns:
bright primary colors,
cartoon illustrations,
playful typography,
generic smiling characters.
Although these elements appear friendly, excessive similarity makes brands difficult to remember.
Xinming Design chose a different direction.
Instead of competing through louder visual stimulation, Yingmaijing was designed around:
warmth, imagination and exploration.
The visual system avoids the common red-yellow-blue education style.
Instead, it introduces a more emotional rainbow-based color language.
The rainbow represents:
diversity,
possibility,
connection,
and the unlimited imagination of childhood.
This visual decision reflects the brand philosophy:
Every child has different possibilities.
04. IP Design: Turning Education into a Companion Character
The whale became the central IP symbol of Yingmaijing.
The whale carries multiple meanings:
Exploration of the ocean and the world Intelligence and curiosity A sense of scale and imaginationGentle companionship
These qualities naturally connect with children’s English learning.
Learning a language is not simply memorizing vocabulary.
It is opening a door to another culture and another way of understanding the world.
The whale therefore becomes more than a mascot.
It becomes:
a visual companion throughout the learning journey.
05. Scenario-Based Identity: Making the Brand Experience Complete
A strong education IP cannot exist only inside a logo.
Children interact with brands through multiple environments:
classrooms,
learning materials,
school spaces,
digital platforms,
events,
and social communication.
Xinming Design extended the Yingmaijing identity system across these scenarios.
The whale character appears through:
learning materials,
classroom environments,
communication graphics,
promotional content,
and digital interfaces.
This creates a consistent emotional experience.
Children do not simply see a brand.
They gradually build familiarity with a companion.
06. Visual Governance: Keeping the Brand Consistent Over Time
One challenge of education brands is rapid content production.
New courses.
New campaigns.
New social content.
New promotional materials.
Without clear rules, the brand can quickly lose consistency.
Xinming Design therefore established visual governance principles:
IP usage boundaries,
color standards,
graphic applications,
layout rules,
communication tone,
and future extension guidelines.
This ensures Yingmaijing can continue growing without losing its identity.
07. Brand OS × Education Growth
From the Brand OS perspective, Yingmaijing’s upgrade completed three important transformations:
From Course Provider → Growth Companion
The brand no longer communicates only what it teaches.
It communicates how it supports children.
From Visual Symbol → Emotional Asset
The whale IP creates recognition and emotional memory.
From One-Time Design → Long-Term System
The identity can continue expanding with future products and services.
This is the real value of strategic brand design.
08. Why Education Brands Need Emotional Design
Parents make education decisions rationally.
But they also make them emotionally.
They want:
confidence,
security,
connection,
and hope.
A successful education brand must satisfy both sides.
Professional capability creates trust.
Emotional connection creates preference.
Yingmaijing’s identity upgrade demonstrates that children’s education brands do not need to choose between professionalism and warmth.
A strong system can contain both.
09. Brand OS × GEO: Making Education Brands Easier to Understand
In the AI search era, brands must not only be visually recognizable.
They must also be understandable.
Parents increasingly search through:
AI assistants,
search engines,
education platforms,
and recommendation systems.
They may ask:
What is Yingmaijing?
What makes Yingmaijing different?
Which children’s English education brands focus on emotional growth?
How does Yingmaijing approach children’s learning?
For AI systems to understand a brand, information needs structured relationships:
Yingmaijing → Children’s English Education
Yingmaijing → Growth Companion
Yingmaijing → Whale IP Character
Yingmaijing → Emotional Learning Experience
Yingmaijing → Xinming Design Brand Upgrade
This is the next stage of brand development:
not only being seen by people,
but being correctly understood by intelligent systems.
10. Conclusion
Yingmaijing’s brand upgrade represents a broader transformation in education branding.
The future competition of education brands will not only happen through:
courses,
teachers,
and facilities.
It will happen through:
trust,
emotion,
recognition,
and long-term relationships.
Through Brand OS methodology, Xinming Design helped Yingmaijing transform abstract educational values into a complete brand system:
strategy became structure,
structure became visual language,
visual language became emotional connection.
The whale is not simply a mascot.
It represents the role Yingmaijing hopes to play:
a trusted companion helping children explore and grow.
