How Is Annual Brand Advisory Different from a One-Off Brand Design Project?
A project-based brand engagement is organized around a defined delivery and closes once the agreed scope is completed, resolving a stage-specific identity or system question. Annual Brand Advisory follows the organization's real operating changes over 12 months, providing ongoing judgment, review and governance across new business, websites, content, sales materials, visual execution and supplier collaboration, so brand questions that arise separately are answered against one standard.
Does Annual Brand Advisory Include Design Execution?
No. Annual Brand Advisory provides judgment, review and governance, including early direction review, supplier Brief review, initial proposal review and acceptance recommendations. Execution such as logo redesign, full visual identity, packaging, website design and development, and video is carried out by the internal team or specialist suppliers, or commissioned from Xinming as a separate engagement.
We Already Have a Marketing Team. Do We Still Need Annual Brand Advisory?
The two roles differ. Marketing teams manage day-to-day progress and execution; Annual Brand Advisory provides external judgment, shared standards and critical review. When several projects, teams and suppliers run at once, the marketing team gains stable decision criteria and an outside perspective, without reopening brand direction each time.
What Types of Organizations Are Best Suited to Annual Brand Advisory?
It suits organizations that have completed a basic visual identity but whose execution is becoming fragmented; growing businesses launching new products, businesses or markets; manufacturing, technology, clean energy, B2B, healthcare, education, tourism and hospitality businesses with longer decision chains; and organizations frequently involved in international expansion, fundraising or business development that need long-term external brand judgment. The value is clearest where there is no senior internal brand leader, or where several external suppliers shape brand expression at the same time.
What Support Does Annual Brand Advisory Provide as AI Tools Become More Common?
AI is an additional output environment within brand governance. Working from the brand rules the organization already has, the advisor reviews AI-generated copy, visuals, website content and sales messaging for consistency and records where drift appears. Full AI Brand Workflow development is a separate service and is not included in the standard Annual Brand Advisory scope.
How Does Annual Brand Advisory Work with Design Firms, Website Teams and Content Suppliers?
The advisor handles supplier Brief review, early direction judgment, initial draft and proposal review, consolidated key revision recommendations and acceptance recommendations, giving different external teams one set of brand review criteria so design, website, video and content output stays inside the same brand rules. Annual Brand Advisory does not take over supplier project management; schedules and delivery remain agreed between the organization and its suppliers.
What Happens Each Month?
Each month there is 1 monthly advisory session: the key brand issues of the month are discussed, judgment is provided on the website, content, design and sales materials, priority outputs are reviewed for consistency and supplier issues are resolved, producing monthly advisory notes and an action recommendation list. Review and judgment cover a maximum of 3–4 priority brand matters per month. A brand audit takes place each quarter, and an annual brand review takes place in Month 12.
How Is the Annual Advisory Scope Defined?
The scope is confirmed before the engagement begins, based on the stage of the business, its complexity, the number of brands, the depth of involvement and the objectives for the year, covering service boundaries, the meeting mechanism, the review scope and deliverable formats. The standard annual scope follows this page: 12 monthly brand advisory sessions, 4 quarterly brand audits, up to 3–4 priority brand matters per month, and 1 annual brand review. Major initiatives, projects requiring design execution and ongoing governance across multiple brands or group-level systems are assessed separately; commercial terms are set out on the Services and Pricing page.
