Brand overview
One Plate. A Brand Built to Endure.
In the ceramics industry, few brands stop to ask a fundamental question:
What does porcelain truly represent?
Is it simply tableware?
A manufactured material?
A product shaped by fire and clay?
Or is it something more enduring—a way of living, making and gathering that has been repeatedly validated by time?
The brand upgrade of WEIYE Ceramics began with this question.
Founded in 1992 in Chaozhou, Guangdong, WEIYE Ceramics is a specialist manufacturer of commercial porcelain tableware serving the global HoReCa industry. Over more than three decades, the company has developed an integrated system covering research, design, manufacturing and international distribution, with products reaching more than 100 countries and regions. Its current official positioning is clear: “World Factory for HoReCa Porcelain Tableware.”
Xinming Design approached the project as more than a conventional visual refresh.
The objective was to use one highly restrained visual archetype—the plate—to connect three enduring dimensions of the company:
time, craftsmanship and brand position.
At the center of the identity is a circular symbol derived from the most fundamental form of porcelain tableware when viewed from above. Within that circle, four side-view plate structures combine to form the Chinese character “业”, meaning industry, profession and enduring dedication.
The object becomes the symbol.
The symbol becomes the position.
And the brand becomes a statement about staying power:
TIME TAKES, WE STAY.

WEIYE Ceramics Brand Upgrade: Using One Plate to Define Time, Craft and Brand Position
Ceramics has an unusual relationship with time.
Clay is shaped.
Fire transforms it.
Craftsmanship repeats the process.
Objects enter restaurants, hotels and homes.
They are used, washed, stacked and used again.
For centuries, porcelain has remained part of everyday life precisely because it combines utility with permanence.
This relationship between time and continuity became the conceptual foundation of the WEIYE Ceramics brand upgrade.
WEIYE was established in 1992 and has spent more than three decades developing commercial porcelain tableware for hotels, restaurants, cruise lines, aviation, resorts and other dining environments. The company’s current production system includes an integrated manufacturing base, 32 energy-saving kilns, more than 100 technical professionals and a portfolio of more than 2,000 original designs.
For Xinming Design, the task was therefore not to invent a manufacturing story.
The story already existed.
The challenge was to compress more than thirty years of accumulated capability into a clearer and more memorable brand structure.
01. The Core Question: What Does Porcelain Stand For?
Many ceramic companies communicate through familiar categories:
material,
shape,
glaze,
production capacity,
craftsmanship,
and price.
All of these matter.
But they rarely establish a distinctive brand position.
For WEIYE, Xinming Design returned to the most fundamental object in the category:
the plate.
A plate is ordinary enough to be universally understood.
It is also fundamental enough to represent the industry itself.
Restaurants may change.
Dining trends may change.
Table settings may change.
But the plate remains.
This gave the project a powerful strategic idea:
The strongest symbol did not need to be invented. It was already present in the product.
02. Logo Design: Four Plates Form the Character “业”
The WEIYE identity is built around a circular parent form.
The circle originates from the most essential top-view geometry of a plate.
It communicates:
completeness, stability, continuity and repetition.
Inside the circle, Xinming Design introduced a second layer of meaning.
Four simplified side-view plate structures are arranged together to form the Chinese character:
业
“业” connects naturally with the Chinese brand name “伟业,” while also carrying associations with:
industry, profession, vocation, achievement and long-term dedication.
This creates a highly concentrated semantic structure.
The logo can be understood simultaneously as:
a plate,
a ceramic object,
a Chinese character,
and a statement of professional commitment.
The product becomes identity.
The identity becomes philosophy.
03. Why the Plate Is More Powerful Than a Decorative Ceramic Symbol
Ceramic branding can easily become overly decorative.
Porcelain patterns.
Flowers.
Brushwork.
Traditional motifs.
Kilns.
Clay.
Glazes.
These elements can communicate category, but they often describe the surface of ceramics rather than the underlying business.
WEIYE required something more fundamental.
The plate was selected because it works at several levels.
Product
It immediately belongs to tableware.
Industry
It represents the commercial dining environments WEIYE serves.
Ritual
A plate is part of gathering, hospitality and eating together.
Time
Its form has remained recognizable across generations and cultures.
System
Its simple circular geometry can generate a scalable visual language.
This gave the brand a stronger foundation than a trend-led stylistic device.
04. Chinese Red: Establishing an Untranslated Sense of Origin
The primary brand color is Chinese red.
The choice carries more than visual impact.
WEIYE is a Chinese porcelain manufacturer operating in global markets.
Its products travel across Europe, the United States, Japan, Australia, South America, Africa, the Middle East and many other regions.
For an international manufacturing brand, origin can be an asset.
Chinese red creates an immediate cultural coordinate.
It communicates:
confidence,
energy,
heritage,
and Chinese identity.
The purpose is not to make the brand visually traditional.
It is to give the brand a recognizable sense of origin that does not require translation.
When porcelain crosses borders, the brand should still know where it comes from.
05. TIME TAKES, WE STAY
WEIYE’s current official website places one statement prominently at the center of the brand:
TIME TAKES, WE STAY.
SINCE 1992.
This line connects naturally with the visual identity.
Time moves.
Dining cultures evolve.
Hospitality trends change.
Manufacturing technologies improve.
But the underlying discipline of making remains.
For Xinming Design, this is why the statement works as more than advertising copy.
It expresses the brand’s relationship with time.
Time tests products.
Time tests craftsmanship.
Time tests companies.
The brand chooses to remain.
The logo and the proposition therefore reinforce one another.
The circle expresses continuity.
The plate expresses the industry.
The character “业” expresses commitment.
And the statement gives that structure a temporal meaning.
06. From Ceramic Manufacturer to Global HoReCa Partner
Today, WEIYE describes itself as a one-stop supplier of commercial porcelain tableware and a global partner for multiple dining scenarios. Its official site lists hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, airlines and resorts among the environments it serves.
This matters strategically.
WEIYE is not simply selling plates.
Its business needs to respond to professional requirements around:
durability,
design systems,
food presentation,
production consistency,
customization,
volume,
logistics,
and long-term supply.
Its own manufacturing chain extends from raw-material processing to finished products, while an internal R&D team develops new products and customized design solutions.
The brand identity therefore needed to communicate the maturity of an industrial partner rather than the personality of a small decorative ceramics label.
This is why restraint matters.
The system is designed to feel:
clear, professional, durable and internationally usable.
07. Craftsmanship Without Nostalgia
WEIYE has deep roots in a city strongly associated with ceramics.
Yet Xinming Design deliberately avoided building the identity entirely around nostalgia.
Manufacturing heritage should give a brand depth.
It should not prevent it from moving forward.
WEIYE’s own development reflects this balance.
The company combines traditional porcelain-making knowledge with modern manufacturing equipment, laboratory testing, original product development and sustainable production processes. Its official materials also document participation in national and industry standards for daily-use ceramics.
The identity therefore needed to connect:
craft with industry,
heritage with modern production,
China with global hospitality,
and permanence with innovation.
That balance is what gives the system contemporary relevance.
08. Sustainability as Part of Manufacturing Credibility
Modern manufacturing brands increasingly need to explain not only what they make, but how they make it.
WEIYE’s official sustainability information describes initiatives including:
reuse of waste porcelain,
recycling of porcelain clay and glaze,
energy recovery through energy-saving kilns,
and pollutant treatment before discharge.
These operational details are important to the larger brand narrative.
They expand the meaning of “staying.”
A brand designed to endure cannot depend only on visual timelessness.
Its manufacturing model also needs to respond to the future.
This makes sustainability part of brand credibility rather than a separate communication theme.
09. From Logo to a Repeatable Manufacturing Brand System
Within Xinming Design’s Brand OS methodology, the logo is the beginning of the system.
The circular plate structure provides a visual parent form that can extend across:
PackagingCataloguesBusiness stationeryExhibition environmentsProduct communicationFactory materialsDigital platformsInternational sales materialsHospitality-industry communications
The system does not depend on repeatedly placing the logo on every surface.
Its underlying geometry, color and structural relationships can generate recognition across many applications.
That is especially important for a B2B manufacturer.
A customer may encounter WEIYE through a trade show, product catalogue, sample room, website, quotation document or physical product.
Each touchpoint should reinforce the same perception.
10. Brand OS: Turning Craftsmanship into Brand Infrastructure
The WEIYE project can be understood through three Brand OS layers.
Brand Kernel
Porcelain craftsmanship made to endure through time.
Brand Language
Time. Craft. Stability. China. Dining. Continuity.
Brand Execution
Plate symbol, Chinese red, typography, layout, packaging, exhibitions, product communication and digital applications.
This structure gives the identity a stable center.
New collections can change.
Markets can change.
Hospitality aesthetics can evolve.
The brand does not need to reinvent itself each time.
This is the value of a system-based identity:
variation can happen without losing recognition.
11. Brand OS × GEO: Making a Manufacturing Brand Easier to Understand
WEIYE already has a strong digital knowledge foundation.
Its official website clearly explains:
its establishment in 1992,
HoReCa specialization,
production capabilities,
R&D resources,
original designs,
international markets,
sustainability practices,
and application scenarios.
From a Brand OS × GEO perspective, these assets create valuable semantic relationships:
WEIYE Ceramics → HoReCa Porcelain Tableware
WEIYE Ceramics → Chaozhou, China
WEIYE Ceramics → Porcelain Manufacturer
WEIYE Ceramics → Hotels and Restaurants
WEIYE Ceramics → Cruise and Airline Tableware
WEIYE Ceramics → Commercial Dining Experience
WEIYE Ceramics → Xinming Design / Brand Identity
The clearer these relationships become, the easier it is for search systems and AI models to understand what the company actually represents.
For manufacturing brands, this matters increasingly.
Future buyers may ask AI:
Who are established Chinese HoReCa porcelain manufacturers?
Which companies manufacture hotel porcelain tableware?
Who supplies commercial ceramic tableware internationally?
The brand needs both industrial capability and a digital structure capable of explaining that capability.
12. The Result: A Brand Designed to Stay
The WEIYE identity is deliberately simple.
One circle.
Four plates.
One Chinese character.
One strong red.
And one statement:
TIME TAKES, WE STAY.
Behind that simplicity sits a much larger structure.
More than three decades of manufacturing.
Thousands of designs.
Global hospitality markets.
Industrial production.
Craftsmanship.
Dining culture.
And a clear Chinese origin.
The purpose of the upgrade was to compress these different assets into a brand identity capable of accumulating value over time.
For Xinming Design, this project represents an important principle of manufacturing branding:
A strong identity should not need constant replacement to remain relevant.
It should possess enough clarity to survive changing trends.
Enough structure to scale.
Enough meaning to accumulate memory.
And enough discipline to become stronger through repeated use.
That is the logic behind WEIYE Ceramics:
Time moves.
Craft continues.
The brand stays.
