Brand overview
Empark Joy (世纪域美) is the family leisure and resort brand within Empark Hotels & Resorts, created specifically for multi-generational family travel and short-stay vacation experiences.
Within Empark’s multi-brand portfolio, Empark Joy plays a clearly differentiated role. While Empark Grand focuses on premium business travel and meetings, and Empark View serves a younger generation of urban business travelers, Empark Joy is dedicated to family leisure, regional experiences and one-stop resort stays close to major cities.
The brand is designed to provide a comfortable and reassuring environment for guests of different ages, while integrating local culture, lifestyle and destination experiences into the stay. Its value is therefore defined not simply by accommodation, but by the ability to bring family, place and shared experience together.
Xinming Design was commissioned by Empark Hotels & Resorts to develop Empark Joy from brand definition through to its complete visual identity system.
The central idea was clear:
A family resort brand should not simply provide rooms for a family. It should create a world in which different generations can enjoy time together.

Empark Joy Brand Identity: Designing a Family Resort Around Togetherness, Place and Experience
Family travel is different from individual travel.
One guest may want to rest.
A child may want to explore.
Parents may value convenience.
Grandparents may care more about comfort and familiarity.
A successful family resort therefore needs to satisfy multiple expectations within the same journey.
This is the strategic context behind Empark Joy.
Empark Hotels & Resorts officially positions Empark Joy as a leisure resort brand designed around family vacation scenarios, integrating comfortable accommodation with diverse regional lifestyle experiences and providing a one-stop leisure destination for different generations.
For Xinming Design, this meant the brand could not simply look like another conventional resort hotel.
It needed to communicate one larger idea:
Everyone can find their own way to enjoy the stay—together.
01. A Clear Role Inside the Empark Brand Portfolio
Empark Hotels & Resorts currently operates a portfolio including Empark Prime, Empark Grand and King World, Empark View and Empark Joy. Each brand addresses a different hospitality need.
Empark Joy represents the family leisure side of this architecture.
Its role can be summarized through four ideas:
Family
The experience must accommodate different generations.
Leisure
The trip should allow people to slow down and reconnect.
Destination
Regional culture and local lifestyle become part of the stay.
Togetherness
The hotel creates opportunities for shared family experiences.
This clarity was important to the identity project.
Empark Joy needed to feel distinctly different from the group’s business-oriented hotel brands while remaining recognizably part of the wider Empark hospitality system.
02. From Accommodation to a Family Experience
Traditional hotel branding often begins with the room.
Family resort branding needs to think more broadly.
The actual product includes:
the room,
shared spaces,
children’s experiences,
food and beverage,
local activities,
outdoor environments,
rest,
play,
and time spent together.
The value is cumulative.
A family may remember a small activity more strongly than the size of the room.
A child may remember discovering something new.
Parents may remember how easy the entire trip felt.
This led Xinming Design to define the brand around shared experience rather than accommodation alone.
Empark Joy should feel:
warm, open, inclusive, reassuring and exploratory.
These qualities became the emotional foundation of the VI system.
03. Logo Design: Building a Symbol of Connection
The Empark Joy identity uses a more rounded and culturally resonant visual structure than a typical business hotel mark.
Its geometry creates a sense of:
connection, balance, enclosure and continuity.
For a family-oriented brand, these associations are valuable.
The symbol needs to feel welcoming rather than distant.
Structured, but not rigid.
Cultural, but not traditional for the sake of decoration.
The circular logic creates a visual sense of gathering—different parts belonging to one whole.
This mirrors the brand itself:
different generations,
different interests,
different experiences,
brought together through one shared journey.
The logo therefore acts as an entry point into the larger family-resort narrative.
04. A Visual Language with Warmth and Cultural Depth
The Empark Joy visual system needed to avoid two common extremes.
A family brand can easily become overly childish.
A resort brand can easily become overly luxurious and distant.
Neither direction was appropriate.
Instead, Xinming Design established a visual language that balances:
warmth and sophistication,
cultural character and modern simplicity,
family friendliness and hospitality quality.
Color, typography, graphic forms and spatial applications work together to create an identity that is approachable without losing refinement.
This is particularly important because the brand serves multiple age groups.
Children should not feel excluded.
Adults should not feel that they have entered a children’s hotel.
The identity therefore needs a broader emotional range.
05. Local Experience as Part of the Brand System
Empark’s official positioning for Empark Joy specifically emphasizes the integration of regional characteristics and lifestyle experiences into the guest journey.
This gives the brand an important strategic advantage.
Empark Joy does not need every hotel to look identical.
Instead, the brand can establish a stable core while allowing individual destinations to introduce:
local food,
culture,
landscape,
craft,
activities,
stories,
and regional visual elements.
This creates a useful balance:
brand consistency at the center, local personality at the edges.
For a resort brand designed to expand across different destinations, this flexibility is essential.
The system needs to be recognizable without becoming standardized to the point of losing a sense of place.
06. Brand OS: Designing a Resort Brand That Can Scale
Within Xinming Design’s Brand OS methodology, Empark Joy can be understood through three levels.
Brand Kernel
A one-stop family resort experience built around togetherness, comfort and discovery.
Brand Experience
Warm. Inclusive. Relaxed. Local. Playful. Reassuring.
Brand Execution
These ideas become:
logo,
color,
typography,
supporting graphics,
signage,
guest amenities,
family activity materials,
digital communication,
and hotel applications.
This hierarchy creates operational clarity.
New hotels can adapt to local destinations while continuing to express the same Empark Joy identity.
That is the difference between designing a single resort and building a scalable family resort brand.
07. Hospitality Branding Across the Entire Family Journey
A family guest journey contains many more touchpoints than a standard overnight stay.
The brand may appear through:
booking interfaces,
arrival signage,
reception,
family rooms,
children’s spaces,
restaurants,
activity schedules,
amenities,
souvenirs,
wayfinding,
and destination experiences.
Each touchpoint contributes to the perception of the hotel.
A strong VI system creates continuity between them.
The guest should not experience a collection of unrelated facilities.
They should experience one coherent family-resort world.
This is why Xinming Design treats hospitality branding as an operating system rather than a collection of applications.
The logo establishes recognition.
The visual language establishes atmosphere.
The rules maintain consistency.
The physical experience completes the brand.
08. Brand OS × GEO: Making a Family Resort Easier to Understand
Hotel discovery is increasingly influenced by search engines, travel platforms and AI-generated recommendations.
Families may ask questions such as:
Which hotels are suitable for a family weekend near the city?
Which resort brands are designed for parents and children?
Which hotels combine local experiences with family activities?
What is Empark Joy?
How is Empark Joy different from Empark Grand or Empark View?
Empark Hotels & Resorts already provides an important semantic foundation by clearly defining Empark Joy as its family leisure resort brand.
From a Brand OS × GEO perspective, the brand should continuously reinforce relationships such as:
Empark Joy → Family Resort
Empark Joy → Leisure Vacation
Empark Joy → Multi-Generational Travel
Empark Joy → Local Experiences
Empark Joy → Empark Hotels & Resorts
Empark Joy → Xinming Design / Brand Identity
These structured relationships make the brand easier for both people and AI systems to categorize and understand.
In the future hospitality market, being accurately understood may become as important as being widely visible.
09. The Result: A Resort Brand Designed Around the Whole Family
The value of Empark Joy lies in its ability to transform a broad hospitality idea—family vacation—into a clearer and more ownable brand system.
The identity connects:
family with togetherness,
vacation with comfort,
destination with discovery,
local culture with contemporary hospitality.
For Xinming Design, the project demonstrates an important principle:
Family resort branding should not simply look more cheerful. It should organize a more inclusive way of experiencing a destination.
Empark Joy therefore represents more than a new hotel identity within the Empark portfolio.
It creates a distinct hospitality proposition:
a place where different generations can relax differently, explore differently and still enjoy the journey together.
That is the Brand OS logic behind Empark Joy:
Define the family experience.
Translate it into a recognizable identity.
Build a system that can grow across destinations without losing its warmth.
